Before the event Tim warned us that this would be another of his specials, with possible triffid mutations ..
the usual ..
water features ..
some climbing ...
|
fences and animals to be avoided ..
sounded like fun !
|
Tempted by these promises were the usuals, plus Nigel who had done some
DFing before but never one of Tim's, hence has the biggest smile.

Good speed, shame about the direction
|
The aptly named Triffid B.....
|
Can there be any truth in it 'pays to stop and think' on these events?
|
Personally I have never tried it but Gary has.

So did this pausing for thought have any effect?
Rosie decided to take it easy, just doing it for times, and puts in one
of her best performances ....... hmmmmm ?
Multi-Star
Well done Multi-Star Gary, found them all in an incredibly short time. Tim is clearly shocked.
Hero League
Now, Tim was the current Hero, having sneaked ahead of Colin F at Chris's event but had to leave before the
results were processed.
So the first thing on the agenda was to present
him with the much sort after, almost solid gold, steeped in history Hero Trophy ....
He was allowed to bask in the glory of his mega achievement for close
on 20 seconds, to a background of almost audible applause .....
..... before having to bow to our new Hero, and rescaler in chief .... Gary
Snakes
& ladders
So with Gary's win (50 points) from a handicap of 104, he
had exceeded the rescale trigger of 150, causing most handicaps to be scaled
by 130/154 (minimum limits apply). A list of all Hero points (handicaps) are here.

Thanks Tim, there had to be one who would try to get to HEL L
directly from the road, high above, though brambles, having followed a
power line down the road., BUT who it was must remain a secret.
Did you know, Tim's calsign is M0 BGE which of course stands for
B........ Good Egg.
So that was 2023, thanks to all for your support.
Have a good Christmas and New Year, looking forward to seeing you all again in 2024, keep your eye on the Noticeboard for the dates.
