Chelmsford DF Operator Gary Start Location: West of Great Bentley - TM 093 219 on road linking Lufkins Farm and Slough House Farm. Start Time: 7.30 PM Main TX: 1930 KHz (2 minutes in 10 until 8.50 PM, then continuous until 9.30 PM if needed). Getaway TX: 1960 KHz (Timings as main station). ''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' The revised start seemed fine, well away from centres of population, perhaps useful in the future?The strength of the signal at the start made most of think that he was much closer than he really was. This resulted in the inevitable parallel bearing syndrome around 220 degrees for mile after mile.  Eventually after investigating other possibilities we arrived on site. See right-hand aerial view - most of us ran in from the bottom left. A wire fence ran from the main Tx down and left causing much searching in some really thick undergrowth in the red loop. First to break away and find the Main Tx was the new slimmer Larby. He then attempted to fool everyone by coming back and then running past the Tx as he proceeded to the Getaway Tx. Having found Gary myself I was once again 'robbed' of second place at the Getaway Tx by a serious case of 'I can't see the ffffffff....friffid'. That Butson fffffellow has a lot to answer for! Results:
