Before the event Jokers are generated by the computer, the organiser will tell you your Joker letter in private, don't let other competitors know what it is! The letter indicates which Triffid will give you double points and validate other Triffid finds.
To maximise the number of points that are doubled, you will probably wish to find your Joker first, or at least early, but you must also return there to make your final 'dib' to validate other finds before the end of the event. The end of the event is marked by the 'Machine Gun' of dots, if you have found and dibbed other Triffids but not validated those finds before the gun, no points will be awarded for them.
You may return to your Joker several times to 'bank' points but this will involve more walking and wastes time. Judging how long it will take to return at the end of the event is critical - will you go after that extra Triffid or play it safe and return early? You choose how much spice you add!
