Roy had us guessing with a very strong signal to the start
at Capel St.Mary, and a bearing pointing through the minor roads of Suffolk.
Some competitors took a route along such roads; others chose to loop round on
the A12 and approach from the south via the Stanway roundabout. The
presence of Roy's car adjacent to Sargeant's wood caused further confusion
and wet feet until signals indicated that he was in fact not there but over the
other side of the Marks Tey - Sudbury rail link. More confusion was created by
Roy placing his bags and pole near where he was hidden.
Well done to Phil C who made it look relatively easy, and
thanks to all who supported the event. Gary managed to make up 15 minutes
and sneak in ahead of Phil for maximum points at the "Getaway".
Beers supped and pleasantries were exchanged afterwards in
the Barn at the Swan, Chappel.
